Hi, Everybody,
I broke my "quick" release connector at the input end of the filter, too.
Just what is the Dorman part number for the 90 degree connector?
Thank you.
Bill

That part is in the P80 forum, if you use 8 mm fittings, Bill

I’ll try to find and link

I don't know how to do the official thank you thing, but thank you, regardless.

I have now in my hands a delivery pipe p/n 8664405.
Is it possible to remove those little clips and insert them in the old line in situ?
Has anyone ever tried?
The part cost some sixty bucks, buy if I can do it this way, even if I wreck the new part but get the old line fixed, I just think of how much time have I saved and what is my time worth?
Even so, I can march down to the Volvo dealership, go dumpster diving, get the part for nothing, and return my new one.
Just thinking.

Hi, Everybody.
I did it. I pried the plastic clips out of the new pump to filter line connectors, wrestled the broken one out of the old connector, gently pushed the new clip into place, and simply snapped it onto the filter. I believe this is the most efficient and reliable way to do this. Especially when the repair is being made in situ while lying on one's back, this eliminates the need for heat, jerry-rigging a pressing method, clamps, any and all guesswork, but does give one peace-of-mind.
What I would suggest is finding a Volvo tech who throws these things away probably daily. Have one on hand.
