Has anyone replaced the hoses that go to the inlet and outlet of the fuel filter?
My outlet hose is visually degrading and I've smelled the scent of fresh fuel after some full throttle acceleration, especially in the area of the filter.
Any tips/tricks/advice?
I've looked at parts diagrams to see that the outlet hose runs under the car, underneath some plastic shield and the inlet hose snakes up to the top of the fuel tank/pump area?
The inlet hose appears to be in better condition - but if I'm doing one, why not both.
Thanks!

The actual hose is hard nylon and doesn’t degrade. The rubber part you see is just chafe so it does not see fuel. I would look elsewhere for your fuel smell. You can replace the filter bayonets but have to use a ferrule , warm the nylon to receive the ferrule , and seal in place

gas smell around the wheel well is usually the fuel pump cover plate, they are known to crack, mine did.
if you smell gas on the driver side step around and smell the passenger rear wheel well.
if you're not convinced, wrap that gas hose with paper tissue , then masking tape and drive it around until you smell gas again, unwrap the tape, if the line is leaking the tissue will be wet with fuel.
if its dry, disconnect the battery and pull the rear seat. The pump access cover is there.
