96 850-ground wire missing

Does anyone know where this ground wire needs to be? I've been having charging and starting issues, It will start on a jump but when i turn it off and try to turn it back on it sounds like the battery's dead, and i already replaced the alternator.

That ground wire has all of the looks of some aftermarket thing being installed at some time, likely an old cell phone.

What voltage do you read on the battery?

I had the same problem. Try tracing your wire back to the alternator. I found a loose ground on our 850. Tightened it, and all was well. We also had a bad battery, which made the process more difficult to determine the cause.

The picture shows normal connections. Our 850 has the same.

Is that wire clipped off? From the pic it looks like bare copper right where the black insuated wire comes out of the blue terminal. Maybe just the angle....??

One cable (the main one)goes to transmission housing and the other one goes behind driver's side headlight.
