It was all the rage to use it on cars that had extensive facelifts during the peak of the craze on the west coast. There may have even been a shop with the name, maybe a magazine too.
I used the term to mock the device in this instant case.

When the inside sidewall of your tire is outside the stock body line, on a car or Jeep or lifted truck, you have “jumped the shark.”
