Figured out one of Abbys new TYC lights needed a bit of work. The vertical adjuster had popped out of the socket during shipment.

Fixed with hand pressure.

The rails on the left blue V70 looked like they were from a P2 XC70 with that rough texture. Geronimo the 2000 V70 also has these seemingly P2 rails. The rails on the right wagon were smooth P80 rails but crushed.
I always take pictures of rails and cranes in junkyards, but haven’t seen an egret yet.

Finally got around to swapping out my coolant reservoir tank and the cap. Volvo tank and whatever cap FCP had, but kept the original cap just in case the non-volvo one gives me issues since the underside was a bit different. Tank had been leaking from the small top port overflow line. I inspected the line which seemed fine and figured the original tank was due anyway. Did find some deposits in the coolant. I've drained and filled it twice in the last 2 years, once when i had the head off and once when i pulled the engine to do the clutch. Now with a clean tank i can actually see the coolant and it looks as green as it should be so I'm hoping the deposits are just from the miles on the original tank.

Also changed the oil, still losing about 3/4ths of a quart over 3500 miles. Not terrible i suppose. I did notice some weirdly yellow deposits on the dipstick. Much more saturated and vibrant of a yellow than the oil, so I'm not quite sure what it could be.

Little bit of sludge on sides of dipstick tube? If coolant level and oil level are stable , I’d ignore that.

Looks like water from condensation. Do you do a lot of short trips? You might try taking the car out for a long highway run. That will heat up the oil and give it time to evaporate the water. The PCV system will evacuate the water vapor. Water vapor is a gas and the PCV system is there to evacuate gases from the crankcase.

I just replaced the ABS system and deleted Tracs.

Now I go for a drive, and SRS light goes on (first time ever)
Also it is fogging like crazy, so probably needs a new heater core(was already replaced once).

It just keeps on giving.
Check your climate control while driving. I used to have an issue where bad solder joints (suspected not confirmed) resulted in random switching between defrost, cold, and heat. It resulted in pure fog buildup during winter driving. If the floors are really wet then you are probably right though.

Gonna diagnose a metallic rubbing sound on the rear drivers. Had the caliper replaced recently as the old one seized but it seems the brake or rotor is not properly seated. When rotating the back wheels (physically spinning) the drivers side rotates less and stops with a clunk on what appears to be the brake rotor. Worst case scenario ill pull the rotor off and see if its the parking brake shoes catching. Gonna be a fun day with applications to go back to school and volvo issues to fix!

It may well be the parking brake shoe has delaminated. I would suggest removing the rotor on that side and checking that the shoes are still good and that the cable is not stuck for the parking brake.

On Sunday I got around to replacing both lower brake light housings and passenger side upper housing. I also wired in 2 new skar 3.5 tweeters in rear and the 4th one on front driver side. Already did the FP side a while back. Lets say the front setup looks tacky because of the brittle black dashboard pieces I cut out. Then I replaced the horns. What a ripoff! Either the 98 v70 is too old to accept the lower louder tone horns or the seller ripped me off! What do you think? I like my twin Wolo 310-2t setup on my honda. Even my s70 gt sounded fairly decent with the wolo. More news coming soon!

Finally got around to fixing the issues in the fuse box with a smidge of corrosion.

Steel and brass bristle brushes that had been previously dipped in motor oil were used for the clean. Couldn't find my wheel for my Dremel so it was done the old fashioned way...

I'd use the horn harness and wire in a relay. The best horns tend to draw more juice...
