Interesting as I thought all AWD had them at the rear. Learn something new every day! It now has me thinking my 98 V70XC may have been at the front but my memory is not that good!

How did you figure out you needed to replace the valve and not the tubing which is more common? I will need to re-check the code my Autel scanner identified as it was I believe an EFI-614 code but I am not certain now. It would appear that code could be related to the valve not holding a vacuum, but the info out there is not clear. The issue I have is it is the ladies only car so I can't hang on to it waiting for parts to arrive. Also any parts like that are special order so not returnable if you don't need it.

I felt around the hose, felt fine. I checked the valve, was always open, applied power to it, stayed open. I can't remember my code, but my charcoal canister was always open to intake vacuum. I went to wreckers, found one, and it was closed, couldn't blow through it. I applied power to it, and it opened.

Thanks. That test is simple enough but required the car to be in bits to do the test. At that point I have a car in bits and a long order time (no 98's at junkyards around here currently). Valve is around $140 + Tax so expensive to buy on spec.
Need to find way to test this without disassembly or taking to dealer as an hours labor is more than the part!
I also need to confirm if there are 2 valves. On the link at the start of this thread there is a diagram of the system and it shows 2 valves. It is not clear if there are 2 options or 2 valves. If 2 valves which to buy? I think it was #11 (Vapor canister purge solenoid valve) and #18 (Vapor canister purge shut off valve)

The Lexia post describes the order in which the valves are closed to test the system, and which test prompts which code

Need to pull the codes again and see which EFI code is thrown. However, I read that it says the there is a leak but that does not actually highlight the valve is bad, but just there is a system fault for a leak when it is testing.

Update, finally got the car to work on. Bad news is as far as I can tell the rubber hose from the carbon canister to the Evap canister purge valve just forward of the 'A' pillar is fine. Rubber looks good. Removed the valve and energised it. It is normally open as it should be, but closed when energised as it should, so I am assuming that the valve is good.
Checked the the 'U' shaped rubber hose connections to the carbon canister and again both look good.
Blowing into both pipes there is no resistance. That makes me think the Evap purge valve by the RHS of the top of the radiator is faulty or jammed. It as I understand it should be closed when not energised. Is that the correct assumption?
I am assuming the other pipe it to the rear of the car and will connect to the roll-over valve. Again, I understand that should be open and closes only when energised.
Did notice the short pipe to the Evap valve from the intake is really crusty but I assume that other than that it does not affect the way the system works or is that incorrect?
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks,
Neil.

Had this code once and I found a small hose running along my passenger side underbody that had separated, been cut or whatever. Connected two ends with a small length and some zip ties. Been fine since. So maybe check entire underside and other evap hoses.
