I'll be using this info to repaint my bumpers soon.
Interesting tip: Buy a cheap pair of bumpers from a junkyard to put on your car, letting you take your time with the rehab of your current bumpers. I did this and am eager to spend time preparing, preparing, preparing, and painting my bumpers correctly.

Car looks amazing! I have a question about the how you paint and work on your cars.
Unless your garage is like Dr. Who's Tardis how do you paint the car? In the garage? Do you tent the inside of the garage to limit overspray? How do you vent/filter the air coming in and going out of your paint zone?
Much appreciate this story and the BMW coupe story.

I'm having a hard time finding any place that has the gun kit I used in stock. I was surprised to find it listed on the Home Depot site, but they are out of stock. I bought mine on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/SPRAYIT-SP-33500 ... op?ie=UTF8), but it's no longer available there. Here's the link to the Home Depot listing. I just had all the same parts painted on my 98 R wagon and a headliner replaced before I took delivery of it. So glad it is done but your work is proof that you can do it all at home with some prep and patients.
Do you happen to have the link to the paint gun kit you bought? It sounds perfect for the small jobs I have on my other cars.
Thanks,
Matt
If you find someone who has it, buy it!

I just do it all in the garage with the door open. I wet down the floor to reduce dust. I don't use a tent or anything. The LPLV sprayer dramatically reduces overspray.lrwagon96 wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 09:33 Car looks amazing! I have a question about the how you paint and work on your cars.

If you really want to get info on my BMW, head to wwww.bigcoupe.com. In the My Project Forum, I have completely documented my restoration of a 1984 633csi. https://bigcoupe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=25858
It's been 6 years in the making. It's my daily and I have put over 50K miles on it. It's a long read...
