Engine Oil Type

2005 Volvo XC90 V8

Just got this ride last week. Need to get oil and filters for it, to keep.
The previous owner uses Castrol Full Synthetic, 5W30.
Went to get oil, there were about six types of Castrol, in different color containers, Full Synthetic oil to choose from.
Please help. Which one should I use? I know it's 5w30 weight and full synthetic.

Cheers.

Since you are in Alaska I suggest a 0W-40. OW for cold starting and 40 for the V8 if you exercise the motor. One of the better oil for the money at this time and well suited for Volvo.

Castrol 03101 EDGE 0W-40 A3/B4 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil
5 quart, 1 pack Price: $21.97
