1987 volvo 240 station wagon

can anyone help me with a mechanical problem for my volvo 240 wagon 1987 - whenever i brake, the car pulsate on near stop. also, my heater fan is not always working but it does work by just keep turning. also, my heater gauge is really hot at times.... if i drive on a hot day or driving on the freeway but in the city it is in the middle but usually it tips further to the 3/4 range. i am use to it being in the 1/4 range on other 240 i have owned. thank you so much...
