Just had a look in the 850 service pdfs, and it mentions pressure bleeding should be done if system was empty.
I recently replaced the complete ABS unit on my 850, and that is also how I did it, first bled at the abs modulator (lines to wheels) a bit and then pressure bled the whole system at the wheels.
Not sure if this procedure is different for the newer 2000 models?
I'd recommend to get a pressure bleeder in any case - not that expensive and makes fluid change and bleeding much faster.
How to bleed the master cylinder and ABS unit?
