In college, one of our little group had an early 60s Plymouth 6 cylinder that had the exact same juice in the crankcase as the radiator. Not clear when or how the fluids commingled; the car ran fine but the heater didn't. We got some free black paint and a few rollers, and the Texas sunshine kept it comfy in winter. (Yup, silver paint for summer.) It was still in service when I left for the Conflict overseas.

I recall a story from high school with a slant 6 Mopar engine. For some forgotten reason the engine dumped all the oil shortly after leaving the house. The engine ran for about 20 miles at road speed before locking up.
