Think I answered your other questions in the other thread, but regarding the thermostat, there's more to that than the radiator connection. On my car it was a moderate pita but I was doing a whole bunch of overlapping maintenance so it all kind of worked out (like I think I loosened up the power steering pump and had the serp belt off, and still the screw on the bottom is a big pita even if you don't accidentally drop it into the abyss under the intake...). If it's still working alright, I'd consider just leaving the thermostat for later.

Many thanks of the thermostat swap info justanotherhumanoid. Typical Volvo. Can't just make a job simple and give proper access to do a job without dismantling half a car! I thought $45 CDN for a simple thermostat for a P80 was excessive. $180 CDN for a P2!! That is totally ridiculous!!
May hold off on that for now as the radiator swap is expensive enough.
