Misfire issues?

can someone help to verify the fire order for 2004 Volvo S80? is it 124536? now i am trying to switch ignition coil between 5 and 4, but cannot figure which one is #5. thanks.

Normally the cylinders are numbered from the timing belt side on engines. If yours is the in-line 6 cylinder engine, then cylinder #1 is the cylinder nearest the timing belt, and then they are numbered 1-6 working from there.

What Neil said. You don't need to know anything about the firing order to locate and switch around numbered coils. #1 is on the passenger side, #6 is on the driver's.

Also remember each cylinder has a fuel injector and rarely those get clogged or go bad. Coil or spark plug trouble is much more likely.

Firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. See the pic illustrating both in this post by RickHaleParker viewtopic.php?t=17832&start=10

Hi Gentlemen. You guys and awesome. You've helped me learn, and fix a lot. I have a 2005 S60T awd that has a cylinder 5 misfire. I've replaced MAF, air filter, all 5 coils and plugs. I can hear injector clicking, and I've swapped coils. I put in NGK iridium top grade plugs because I got them free. I also bought aftermarket coils because they swore they are better than the OEM, and modeled after the OEM, but replacing some of the weaker areas with higher quality material. My cheap scanner is only reading the #5 misfire. My automotive knowledge and diagnosis is actually not bad, but my hands on is always a mistake, but you guys have made me so much better at it. Any advice where to check next? Not sure how to check the power going to coil. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
