exhaust issues?

Post by SirBrickWagon »

Recently took my car to Mr. V Plus to get my exhaust headers replaced as the last one's flex joint was completely blown off. went to start my car again today and it sounds like a tractor. No clue what the issue could be. oil?

if it matters, this is the manifold i bought. could it be that the small bolt on the side of the pipe came loose and is only making 1 cylinder loud?

Chances are a weld has broken or it is not sealing properly. As you supplied it, the repair shop ma not look to favorably on doing anything if it is not an install labor issue.

Definitely check the SAS bung to see if it’s loose. A tractor sound describes it perfectly, when it’s loose.

yet another ridiculous fix. low and behold, it was the bolt where an SAS would be (i suppose it would be deleted, there's no valve), it was loose when i was gifted it and the force from the car starting was enough to force it out after 4-5 short drives. glad it was a simple fix of finding it sitting in my engine bay and snugging it back up.
