Where does this cam seal go?

This seal came in my kit, and Im not sure where it goes. I can not find an old one that I took out. Another seal is in the background for scale. The inner diameters of both seals are the same.

A seal kit might include rear main seal.

The kits often have all possible variations of cam seal, so you can have extras

I may be mixing up my cars, but does the thermostat have a seal which encircles the metal flange of the thermostat? I have worked on some cars with such a seal. It may not be for your model, but a related model.

What ever its usage, it will go around a round part (such as a thermostat), with the seal lips providing a seal on both sides and a round opening the outside diameter of the seal pictured.

For cam seals specifically, I haven’t ever seen one of those & have done many front & rear cam seals & a few crank seals. Was it part of an online sellers “kit”? If so, could you provide the link?
