On the wall I used waterproof paint but it is over drywall. I wish I had fitted 'smart' vapor barrier when I did mine. It is more expensive than the regular 6 mil poly sheet but it allows a certain amount of breathing of the gap between the walls. The walls are insulated to R22 and the roof is mostly R40. The floor concrete is waiting for me to seal the concrete. I was going to use epoxy paint but have heard poor reviews. The new Volvo dealership had it's floor sealed not epoxy painted. I asked the service manager why (I know him from years ago). He said the older dealer had their floor epoxy painted but after a year some areas were lifting. He said the mechanics also liked it better. The sealant soaks into the concrete up to 10+ mm where the epoxy mostly sits on top of the surface. You have to diamond grind the surface of the concrete in both cases to open the pores to get better adhesion.
The plus on the epoxy is it is less toxic to work with. The sealer you have to leave the doors open to aerate as it is high in VOC's.
I am more concerned of oil leaks and the amount of salt and de-icer used here so the sealer is much more resistant to that over the epoxy.
Neil.

Ya when I heard that epoxy coatings have a limited lifespan I opted to leave the floors as concrete but the sealer you mentions sounds better. I think most c2 concrete is resistant to oil and salt but I think with time the concrete will “dust” which gets annoyingscot850 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 19:39 On the wall I used waterproof paint but it is over drywall. Do you have any 850 steering racks on hand? If not, where is a good source for them these days? I see FCP no longer carries the OEM ones. I'd much prefer an OEM or reman, but either way, I want a new part, I don't have the time or tools to remove one from a junkyard these days. Thanks.scot850 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 10:23 I have shelves and shelves of stuff. What I am trying to do (not well!) is starting to give stuff to local owners of the older P80 cars. I help out a few local owners with advice and help as well as wrenching for a couple of folks (don't charge them as money is tight for them). It is my way of giving back to the community now I am retired. It can almost keep me out of trouble!
I have about 1400 sq ft of garage space and a lot of shelves and workbenches with shelves covered in parts!
Thanks for the understanding! If they do hang around for a while I will take them and try to find homes locally as being retired I possibly have more time on my hands!

Sorry, but have forgotten where in the US you are.
I do have a few 850 parts but no large stuff like racks.
If you are on the Eastern side, you could try Erie Vo-Vo for a good used item. There used parts are guaranteed.
On the West side there is vandsautodimantlers in Sacramento area. Volvo and SAAB specialist
If you are nearer the North West then in Canada there is Chapman Motors who I use and never had a bad part yet.
Otherwise from what I can see it is an aftermarket crap shoot. Maval used to be a good brand but not heard good things recently. There was a recent thread on this subject that abscate was involved in.
Lastly there is Volvo................
