Best sounding muffler

Anybody put on aftermarket mufflers on their Volvo? I'm going to be dropping my rear subframe on my V70 AWD and want to redo the exhaust. The AWD is tight for mufflers, but stock are standard oval mufflers. If I had to guess, I would go with Magnaflow, but looking for input.

Not sure what the brand was that is on my 'R'. I believe it was bought from Eurosport out East prior to me owning the car. It is garbage and is supposed to be a 'stainless' steel system. It was made in T409 which is not stainless steel in my book. It is like saying a 2" x 4" piece of wood is actually 2" x 4". Nope!

I would keep an eye out for a T304 system or at least the tail pipe. On your car I believe it might be a single pipe on the RHS? Same as a V70XC. I recall there is for some reason a second muffler on the LHS. Can't understand why it was needed. I would look at dumping that and have a custom system made from the join above the LHS rear control arm to the tail pipe and fit something like a Magnaflow muffler and tailpipe. It might be a but load, but then the 'R' has 2 tail-pipes and 2 mufflers which would give the same noise. I am considering fitting 2 Magnaflow mufflers in stainless to my car as they are rotting out.
There are some good systems out of Europe but they are hugely expensive. Look at Viva Performance site for example.

Youtube some other Vibrant Muffler videos. They sound excellent on all types of vehicles. They have Resonators and Mufflers. Called Vibrant and the Resonator is basically a small muffler with a different chamber design in mind.

There was not enough room on the C30 so we decided to go with a muffler delete. We went with unequal length and different size tubing and the rubble is deep, not too loud but with lots of gurgles and loud pops if you gently lift throttle at cruising speed.

Orielly had a Ford Econoline Van Pre-shaped bolt-on exhaust tubing with the correct number and angle of bends needed for the job. Was very reasonably priced.

I currently have the 2000 R exhaust with the dual tips,. I added it after a few months of driving my car. All they did was drill into the original muffler on the left to add a tip, hardly any exhaust comes out of the left, but most of the noise does, it's odd, but sounds decent, it's noticeably louder than stock, but only outside the car, inside there is no difference.

I had a Ferrita stainless exhaust, imported from Sweden, bought from Viva Performance. It sounded slightly more aggressive than stock. I didn't love it because I wanted the silence of a stock system, letting me hear the engine instead of the exhaust. Still, it was high quality and I sold it to an enthusiast (at a notable loss, but whatever).

I looked and drooled at the stuff on Vivaperformance website but with the exchange rate and shipping they are expensive. Having said that, I am looking at in excess of $3000 US to replace the headers on the Toyota 4Runner (OE are crap and failed at the advised 100k miles). Now hoping I can get Doug Thorley stainless (proper stainless T304) headers if they can get material to make them with. They give 35-40 bhp more than OE and up to 3-4 mpg highway better than OE.

I was talking to a local muffler shop yesterday to get my son'e XC70 muffler re-sealed and clamped. Talking to the mechanic there as the owner was out, he says they make muffler systems and use a custom muffler manufacturer in Red Deer to make the mufflers.

I will be talking to them tomorrow about options for the 'R' as I think it only needs the actual mufflers and tips replaced and now we take the car off the road in winter, hopefully they will last a good long time.
