Hey all, recently picked up a 1999 V70r as a daily driver and winter car for life here in Montana. I'm in the process of rebuilding and "returning to zero" before I start modifying. Lately Ive run into an issue where it feels like the car is wandering between 3rd and 4th gear when running above 65mph and around 2500rpm. AFAIK the car has a AW50-42LE and the previous owner did rebuild it. I know these are known for some trans issues, just wanted to know if this could be fixed with the standard flush or if itll need more attention. TIA

Definitely start with a series of drain and fills, 3 liters separated by a few weeks’ driving

+ 1 on what abscate says. Also although you have probably checked, check the trans when warm and engine idling to get the best read of level. Like abscate says, a few drain and fills is the starting point after level check. What does the fluid look like? Red or brown and does it have a burnt smell?

Last I checked a few weeks ago while doing the timing, the fluid was dark red, no burnt smell yet.
