It looks to be somewhere under the front drivers side so i cleaned the reservoir and booster with a cloth. Hoping to see if the puddle will guide me.
It probably yanked the brake line backwards and sheared it off under the car
The trailing arm is still there, just the ball joint at the end of it that connects to the section that goes across the car was severed.

Gonna pull codes with VOLFCR and see what happens in a little bit.

Very stylish! Speaking of which, has anybody seen the Maddox branded Oetiker clamp assortment at Harbor Freight? I just noticed them in stock today. Nice set of smaller ones for $10.

Went out early am to run Ekaterina “ The Kat” S70 AWD as she isn’t registered. 1999 of course

She showed 28 mpg on the mpg counter over 10 miles, temperature took a long time to reach 3 o’clock, swishy shell speed noise on right. Nice and smooth acceleration and good power

Got a list of issues on my young friends V70 NA base to deal with and not a lot of time to do it.

Was dreading the door limit spring. Interestingly the one I fitted to the car had the LH/RH on it, but I have another that just has RH on it. I'm thinking that may be an aftermarket part. Need to see if it stamped with Volvo on it. Why I was not sure if they were interchangeable side-to-side was the large spring you are talking about is off-set to top or bottom (can't recall).

Fortunately, the door limit strap turned out to be loose on the T40 torx screw at the 'A' pillar. Don't know why it worked loose as it still had thread lock on it, so removed it and used new thread lock and hopefully that is it! Phew!

Also fitted the new Volvo MAF the owner had bought swapping out the used one that I got from PnP. That has been running good for the last month so I now have a known good working spare and 2 untried but clean units in vacuum sealed bags with desiccant. These are no longer available new except from Volvo at $350-450 CDN at the on-line Volvo dealers in Canada. I pulled 3 from PnP a few weeks ago and the car had been running happily on that one since. At least I have a good known running one in my stash now as well as 2 other cleaned but untested ones. They are stored in vacuum sealed bags with desiccant sacks in with them. Naturally they don't fit the 'R'. It's is larger diameter and different part number.

Swapped the master door switch for a used one from the stash as the aftermarket part in the car had gone wonky.

Hardest job is the on-going saga of the P0442 - minor emissions leak. Noticed last time I saw the car that the fuel filler neck had several dings in it as well as an aftermarket fuel cap.

When I looked closer it looks like somehow one side had been slightly flattened which would prevent an even seal. The aftermarket filler cap also has a narrower and shallower seal rubber. As I had a new Volvo cap in the stash I have fitted that and lightly sanded the filler neck contact area. Finally used some vaseline on the seal to take up any other small indents. Now need to wait about a week to see if it throws a code. Weird thing was the check light was on until she arrived but was off when I went to remove it with the code reader??

Hopefully we have a code free car in a couple of weeks when she brings it back to leave it with me for a couple of days to swap the winter tires over and do a suspension inspection while I am in there.

Heading to my indy on Tuesday to get a pulse on the car. It drives well and did 160 km with no sweat but i do not want things to pile up here. I am seeing some suspension work in the future but i am more worried about the brakes as it showed low fluid which gives me about 2-3 days for a brake tank fillup.

Pounded the T5 for a cross state trip. Made ALB to ROC back to ALB, picked up ShepHusky, made 8 pm ferry!

About 600 miles total, 25.5mpg. Some boost was used

LOL, one of these days maybe I'll own a turbo. I haven't even really been using vacuum lately. I've gotten my truck back on the road, and have been procrastinating on changing the O2 sensor on the Volvo.... I really need to get that done today.
