How are the calipers holding up?
Worth noting: the factory big brakes use the same calipers and pads as the standard items. Makes for an easy upgrade.

As pointed out, those fronts are easy, if as abscate says, the flex hose nipple hasn't siezed in the caliper. Nice writeup. Everybody still running one of these cars is going to be doing this in the near future.
That was a good price on the rebuilt ATE caliper. Is the piston fully chromed?

I think the factory big bois are 302mm. Brackets, rotors, and hoses. Super easy upgrade when it's brake time, unless your hoses are seized in place like mine were.

Yeah, screw in brake hoses, it's an odd euro thing that you don't see often. Besides euro cars I've only seen it on Mazda rear brake calipers. Everything else is banjos.
Nice work on 50 minutes. I get paid 1.4 hours to do calipers and .7 to flush the brake system.
Pressure bleeding is the way to go for quick, easy and thorough. The equipment can get spendy if you don't do it often. Gravity bleeding is free, just don't forget to pump the brakes and bleed out the air or let the master go dry.

That was six years ago upthread. My last set of Cardones rusted to shinola and seized in 2 years. We have to qualify brands my name and time now.JimBee wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 18:43 As pointed out, those fronts are easy, if as abscate says, the flex hose nipple hasn't siezed in the caliper. Adding some wisdom of ages to this thread. If you let propane fire play on the hose to caliper union for 30 seconds , careful watching the plastic part for melting, it will greatly ease removal. Focus the flame on the metal on the caliper , not the hose joint itself
…and more wisdom…if I had gone with FCP I would have free new calipers by now.
Sadly, my BAP GEON store closed in Albany a few years ago.
