Vaccum hoses Rubber Elbows

I have read several fixes including using a new line and elbows and covering it with a vacuum hose and leaving it on of the manifold to simplify repalcing the elbows. if this is the case can I remove the exlistling plastic hose and use new elbows using the same logic?

I was just reading my IPD catalog - they sell these elbows BTW
