Nay the door wiring connector on P80 cars is standard torx, T10. These are the only external torx on the car:

E5 ABS module
E8 door hing pin
E14 hub bearing bolts

I'd not bother getting a whole set unless you have other cars that need them or it makes more sense cost-wise. I've got those three and hardly ever use them. Any others will just sit in your tool box, unused.

E8 and E5 can be low quality these are low-torque, easy access locations. The E8 you may never use and for sure you could cheat it with a hex or even pliers in a pinch. The E14 I'd recommend a quality piece for if/when you need to do a wheel bearing.

I think I've seen the hinge pins, now that they're mentioned.

This is what I'm planing on getting if it's in stock locally

I just got my sockets.... the local store ran out, and I had to find another store. I was over that way any way, playing hookie from work, and trying to look at another P80.... a V70. Not in the greatest shape, and high miles, but minimal showing rust. Maybe if I can get it cheap. Unfortunately, the keys were locked inside, so I couldn't do much but look at the outside.

Any good tricks to getting into a v70 without keys, that doesn't cost money, or damage? I tried my 850 key/remote, but that didn't work.

Supposedly it smokes, and the throttle sticks.

You can order a key by VIN number if you can get the registration document to a local Volvo dealer. Otherwise it’s a visit from a locksmith with a slim Jim. Volvo’s aren’t easy to sim Jim though

I was thinking before purchase.

Does anyone slim jim anymore? It seems around here, they bend your door out with a balloon, and then reach in with something.

Hopefully they have another key. The man I needed to speak with was out today. I could see a key in the ignition that is supposedly stuck.

I was already with my Bluetooth and 850obd2 to check out the O2 sensors to see if that might be why it smokes.... I did not see soot at the tailpipe, Though.

What year is it? You are not supposed to be able to lock the keys inside a 99-00 car without a key.

You won’t balloon a Volvo door. Find someone who knows P80 Volvos so they won’t damage it

I wondered how it happened because of that. It's a 98, but even my 96 fights me when it comes to locking, but I've never bothered to figure out all the conditions. There are times, I've wanted to lock it, and it won't let me.

I'm hoping they find another key. Right now it's not my responsibility or place to get it open. I really don't even have room for the car.

On another note, all 4 of the E5 bolts, on my 850, broke loose with ease.... well after I was able to get the socket on the screws at that awkward angle. The lower front was the most difficult. I'll pull the module Sunday evening, and send it out.

I think shorter sockets might be easier for a couple of the screws, but whatever.
