You know your country is hard to conquer when your invader stops, build a wall, and says…
Nothing exists behind this, nothing to see here, move along….

Our trip was mid summer 2009.
We got a glimpse of the Firth of Forth bridge, but did not get a photo.
Here is someone else's photo:

I haven't been here for about 4 weeks and I see I missed a ton of good stuff. Great photos from all of you. My new job required my full attention and it's been exhausting with the commute and all, but now I'm getting more comfortable with the new situation and can hopefully drop in here more often.
Here is my photo of the day, little miss in the house says I'm cold and bored, and I cannot leave:

My photos from the Titan Missile Museum on Dec. 26, 2006. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titan_Missile_Museum
Titan 2 history https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGM-25C_Titan_II
If you like mechanical things, or Cold War history, or gigantic explosions, you'd like this place. It blew my mind, having explored a decommissioned and abandoned Nike-Hercules silo/launch site that was a mere half-mile from my neighborhood. My friends and I began exploring it when we were 10, and my last time there was when I was 16.
Anyway, the degree of durability of this Titan facility is difficult to describe because of its scale. It has to be seen. If I recall correctly, the blast doors weigh something like 35,000 lbs. I moved one an inch or so, and it was smooth as butter. They would dig a 10-story hole and build the facility up from there. Everything is redundant: air, water, power, communications, even escape routes for the launch crew. The US built 54 of these things.
The warhead was the largest ever fielded by the United States: 9MT.
I own a copy https://amzn.to/3HBnOVi
Enough preamble, here they are.
