That's what I was thinking.

I've noticed I've got monitors that don't seem to be in any kind of hurry to be ready, but being in Michigan it's not an issue.

Glad it was that simple (but not necessarily obvious) I was holding back making Ferris Bueller references earlier.
It's blowby

Yeah and what else surprises me is that it did not trigger a trouble code or even pending.
But then again, the Evap was the slowest to change and in fact never changed to ready for this car because there was always a small leak detected. Being so slow maybe that is why there was no trouble code YET ha ha.

But would you happen to know if there is some way to stop monitors from becoming ready, like a way to stop the system from testing the system itself?
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

The monitors try to go ready a maximum of three times during each drive cycle. If any of the many conditions aren’t met, the current cycle of these three stops and it tries again after some delay.

They can be forced to ready in VIDA

Thanks a lot.

We give parental, marital, and good sex advice here on MVS when we aren’t covering cars, but, alas, legal advice isn’t covered.

Hi,

No not yet i have to get jack stands to try it.
But if it works i will DEFINITELY post it here no hesitation because i would like to see other people here be able to do it too and maybe that can solve a lot of their problems too with these kinds of cars. The members here have been more than helpful to me so i wont hesitate to help other too. What is that phrase, "Pay it forward" i think, so this would be something like "Help it forward" ha ha.

Well get up and go take the BAR test (ha ha).

I was not asking for legal advice per se, just if anyone knew if it was ok to do that. Not holding anyone accountable either.
But if i take it to a Volvo dealer will they know what VIDA is?
I used to know what it was but forgot, maybe a program or something that works with the OBD2 system?

But maybe another question would be, if they have VIDA can they test to see if the monitors are "almost' ready to go ready?
Or see what it holding up the readyness for one or more monitors?

I;ll see what i can find on the web but thanks for any ideas.

Hello again,

I was just thinking that with the FWD front wheels turning to simulate a drive cycle (jacked up) the back wheels will not be turing at all. So the question comes up, can the computer sense that the back wheels are not turning?

Thanks.
