Generally speaking, how much does it cost to shampoo the inside of a car these days?

A lot of the interior upholstery and seats have years of stains and dirt and are overdue to be washed. I don't know how to do this myself or tell if a shop is ripping me off.

It used to cost $25 to have your car cleaned.

Now it’s called “ detailing” and it’s $150 because the guy who hires kids to do it wants an F350 to commute in.

Well, I just did the mats in the XC. I had what I thought was a good idea and used my electric power washer (it’s not a high power unit). I cleared out the driveway and laid them down. I put soap in the power washer and pre-treated stains and did some manual scrubbing, then I hosed them down for quite a while. After they dried I could tell that it didn’t do a good job. So I busted out the old green machine spot cleaner and did them by hand. All kinds of brown stuff was coming off the carpets. They smell great and look great. So, if you’re doing them yourself, don’t cut corners, it didn’t work for me. Cost, about 6 muscle relaxers.. Lol

Btw, the large cargo mat is still drying. I’m going to put that in the sun today.

Hang it up by one edge. Water will drain out of it and it will dry faster.
