Hi - not long had my v70 now, done about 2,ooo miles in it so far without any problems, however have noticed that intermittently when slowing down to a junction, the revs drop to 500rpm and the PAS gets heavy - once you stop it picks up back to 1000rpm again and all is well.
Any ideas why? Being an auto makes it a bit iffy sometimes and feels like it may stall.
Service is due in about 3000 miles, I will give it a full one, plugs, oil, filters, etc - do I need to change autobox fluid as well?
Any ideas as to why this is happening most appreciated!
Regards

How many miles on her? Depending, it may indeed be a good idea to change the transmission fluid but be aware that it takes a special formulated fluid (JWS-3309) and you will harm the auto box if you fill it with anything else.

Yeah, at those miles, do the tranny flush...good preventative maintenance anyway....like I said before, make sure you get the right fluid.... If you want to save money, go to the Toyota dealer and buy their Type IV fluid- it's the same thing as Volvo's. You'll need at least a case...and then some. There's an excellent write-up on how to do the flush yourself in the repair database...look for "New Modified Transmission Flush."
Have you had the ETM software (free) upgrade yet? If not, get the dealer to do this for you. Although it sounds like tranny issues, your problem certainly could be ETM related.
Cheers and let us know how it goes!
