Compatible 2013 contactless ETM for older S70?

In other parts of this site someone mentioned replacing an old ETM with a contactless 2013 ETM. This would be great as the PnPs in my area don't care what the specifics of the part you pull, just the general label that it is an ETM for about 30 bucks.

Does anyone have a compatibility list for newer to older cars. I have a 1999 S70-GLT (2.4L) engine. Would any 2.4L, 5 cylinder 2013 ETM let's say from a S60 work on this older car? Would the VIN need to be programmed into the ETM?
