Does it come apart so you can store it? Maybe replace HF bolts with real bolts.

I think I have used a scaffold like this. It is ok, but light enough that if you are not careful climbing one end the other end will lift off the floor.
Lock all the wheels unless you want to roll.

We have a set of that type scaffolding that we use for small, mostly interior jobs. I personally would only go as high up as what that picture shows. You can stack them together to go 15' or more high, but I think that's a bit tipsy, even with their outriggers.
But they are great for going up stairwells, and they fit through most door openings. And one person can easily assemble it by themselves.
Look on Craig's List as well.

I got a $6000 quote to fix a roof damaged by a tree branch. Homeowners would have covered it after a 2k deductible but then your rates spike.

I bought a scaffolding for $700 and $100 of lumber. The repair was right on roof edge so not easily done from ladder or up top

I’m now painting the house with the same scaffolding instead of a 4K paint quote

I think a paint brush might be easier. The scaffolding can't be the easiest thing to lift up and paint with.

The rot is progressive. I restored and painted the rotted brickmoulds on the first floor windows with the hope that these windows can be replaced some years later. Now the contractor wants $30K to replace the same windows 4 years later, as compared to $17K before COVID. No change in our household income, I said; your property value is up, he said; not at the same rate, I said; not sure we can get your windows this season, he said -- the show continues.

These wood windows work fine, just old. The illusion of new windows would lower the heating cost follows me like Alfred Hitchcock films. I'll pull out the brickmould from one window and repair it with millwork stock, refresh weather protection, and then a good quality caulk -- may do one more this season.

There's also a possibility of rescuing those wood fames with a brilliant epoxy system called West System. Gudgeon Brothers makes it.
https://gougeon.com

Used for building beautiful wooden boats, and making / repairing any number of things. You can scrape and wire brush the rotted wood out until you get clean wood, then use the epoxy with appropriate thickeners. If you use the correct one, it's easy to shape and sand. It's used in some restoration work where the original piece is important to retain.

I keep thinking I will get exterior storm windows to install over our aluminum frame windows. I keep thinking how long it will be to get the custom size I need, so I have not ordered them. Guess I need to order to start the waiting time.

Here's my concrete core from 2021 when I hollowed out a bowl into it.

I used it as a planter since then, but it's just not right for that duty.

That big zip tie is temporary. This is kinda a proof of concept bird bath. I'll lower the small hose so it's not up so high. To keep the feeder line, I think I'll drill two small holes and screw in some small hooks.

Any suggestions welcome.
