PSA: Volvo genuine parts on sales 15% Off + FREE shipping

Post by cn90 »

From time to time, certain Volvo dealers sell genuine parts at 15% Off + FREE shipping.
To qualify for FREE shipping: I think the minimum order is $100 (verify to be sure).

Sales period: Aug 15-21, 2022.

If you need Genuine parts that are only available from Volvo such as:
- VVT Sprockets
- Interior trim pieces
- Or even standard items like Timing Belt kits
- Or whatever you want...

---> This is the time to buy them.

Some Volvo dealers that participate in this sales:

2- Annapolis MD:
https://parts.volvocarsannapolis.com/

3- Rockville, MD:
https://parts.darcarsvolvocars.com/

4- Lisle IL:

etc. etc.

My local dealer does not participate in this sales. Not only that, they marked the price up extensively, as high as they can.

These days with online parts (indy such as FCPEuro vs online dealer), I don't know how these dealers can still mark up their prices and have buyers biting it. Maybe local repair shops pay that price...

Annoyingly we don't seem to get those up here. At best we may get 10% off accessories!

That’s a bummer Neil!

Volvo of Lisle (Chicago) has been consistently low priced for the last several years, it’s the one I use when the dealers hold these sales. They have an online site.

The ongoing dealer sale thread is here viewtopic.php?t=98273&start=20

This sale is available through usparts.volvocars.com, not exclusive to any single dealership.

Ordering from a dealership with local pickup adds ANOTHER 10% off to the sale. The 10% off discount for local pickup applies every day so stacks during sales. That's 23% off during this sale.

Local pickup is valid at participating dealerships. To see if your nearest dealership participates, pull up a part on usparts.volvocars.com, then click a local dealer under "Please select a dealer to view local pricing" under the listed price. You'll be taken to that dealership's mirror site of usparts.volvocars.com with the everyday 10% off applied.

At least one part I want has increased in price since the Independence Day sale (7/4/22). See the P80 thread about usparts.volvocars.com for more (specifically the last post, but I'll aggregate all info on the first post eventually).

Volvo of Annapolis tacks on a $9.95 nuisance fee on any online orders. The only time I've been able to trick them was stopping by and getting them to include my ask in their regular weekly order. I don't know if getting over the $100 threshold scrapes it off; I may try it just to see.

Hey Scot, I've bought a ton of parts from Volvo of Toronto online and also Vancouver Volvo. They are generally cheaper than FCP and IPD after freight for genuine OEM Volvo parts although they don't participate in these sales.
Not to slag IPD or FCP, their prices are great, but after exchange, shipping and duties it's often better to shop in country.

That is also what I do, we just don't get the on-line additional discounts like they seem to get in the US. I have used several on line Volvo dealers in Canada for genuine parts for the reasons you also do. Those are just 2 I have used. Volvo of Victoria had extra discounts when they first start selling on line a few months ago. I did actually lie about the not getting a sale on parts in Canada. I forgot Volvo of Toronto had a sale back in about February I think.

I like FCP for their range of parts including alternates, as with IPD too. Sometimes they are worth getting stuff from if you can stomach the shipping costs. FCP's warranty is pointless to me as you have to ship the parts back for replacements, although they did once tell me not to bother as it cost more to ship back than for new parts to be sent.

I have picked up parts from Germany, Sweden, Australia and more over the years when there is hard to find stuff or cheaper than available here.
