97 850 Starts, runs and then gets lumpy when warm

Some may have read a recent post I had on this car. It had sat for 3.5 months as no one could find why it ran badly and then died when warm. I offered to take a look and replaced the Fuel pump relay and the car then ran fine.

The owner has been doing a few short runs to get confidence in it. It had been running fine until yesterday when it was 34C and it started running rough again.

Today it is only 18-20C and the car ran fine again.

I have suggested they leave it with me for a few days so I can go over the car and give them a hit list of repairs urgent to whenever.

Any thoughts what could be the issue?

A mechanic he knows swapped the fuel pump and filter (no idea what brand), and the car badly needs a PCV service.

Appreciate your combined genius guys as a hit list.

I will go through the plugs, distributor cap and rotor, plug leads and the like. I will also check the timing belt and fuel pressure in case the new pump is not what is could be.

ECT and/or connector bad/corroded?

Did the mechanic who swapped the pump used the proper submersible fuel hose in the tank?

Thanks for your suggestions Chuck. I can't answer the question on the pipe. I will ask the owner to find out assuming the mechanic knows!
