2005 V70 Floor Access Cover/Hatch

Post by smg »

Does anyone know what type of wood the Floor Hatches are made out of? They are very light but strong. I have an idea to make custom teak & holly hatches for mine. I figured out how to do faux finish... I'd be more than happy to document the project with pix & tutorial. I think it would be a nice touch if the floor looked like it was out of a yacht.

Your custom hatch idea sounds great. Perhaps a veneer over cabinet grade plywood base?
