Re: 2005 XC70 air/fuel issues
Ah ok thanks ill search up the Ford pem anyways and check it out. Going to have to wait till I get my vxdiag scanner and hope that can point me in the right direction cuz I replaced the pem, fuel pressure sensor, boost controller even though it was boosting normally, maf sensor, o2 sensor with downpipe, spark plugs were new, coil packs are good, recent fuel filter change, fuel pump isn't bosch but its working to spec, and a few I can't think of. One thing I havnt taken out to check is the injectors

The PEM is used in many Volvos, but the best source are S60/V70/XC70 as they should be mounted in the spare wheel well on the RHS. An even better bet is if you can find a P1 (2005- S40/V50) as most don't know where to look for them. They are hidden under the carpet at the side of the rear seat on the LHS. It is a good area to get one from as they usually don't get wet. Early or 'metal tank' P2's have the PEM just forward of the RH rear wheel on top of the tank under the car. They are usually trashed by road salt. XC90's also have them on the same side but under the inner fender liner at the front side. Again usually weather damaged.

Yeah my pem is in front of the right rear tire above the fuel filter on the side of the plastic fuel tank, I've been wanting to relocate it to the rear hatch

So one update. I charged my battery over night till the light on the charger was green and it still loses power when trying to start the car. Its a 750 cca 12 volt battery so it should work perfect and not that old, the alternator is working fine putting out the right power so I'm stumped and guessing the only thing left is wiring or some other unit gone bad causing power loss.
I did take the car for a ride and found out that the power issue is causing the car to turn off. Was sitting in a drive through and as I turned my a/c on the car shut itself off. A/C pump is fine since I unplugged it after and it still did the same.

Measure the voltage on the battery after 30 seconds of lights on
Cheap battery chargers test voltage and will be fooled by a poor perform8ng battery

Yeah the battery was bad I changed it with another that I charged up and the cars been starting without boosting it but we'll see what happens after a few days.
I've still been getting some engine problems where when I'm idling the car will sometimes bog down and hesitate to idle.
I ordered a vxdiag scanner yesterday to be able to fully troubleshoot what's causing it hopefully and should arrive on the 13th.

Check for vacuum leaks and a parasitic drain.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

So I decided to take off my intake yesterday to check everything in that area and for the simple fact that taking things off and putting them back on could fix something. I cleared the codes off my car after working on it, took it for a few little drives since yesterday and so far there's no engine light and it hasn't had any problems.
My brother and I are thinking it was that special bolt on the bottom of the intake and wasn't allowing the fluid through proper causing issues.
So far my engine related problems are fixed but ima wait a week or so to fully say everything running properly. Will post again later on about what happens

The reason I was loosing fuel pressure and stalling out was because of the hose inside the fuel tank was routed towards the back causing it to kink cuz of how its supposed to connect to the sending unit.
With luck I fished it through the front of the tank and everything connected properly. My car runs constantly now without stalling out but now since thats all fixed I'm able to start seeing what other components are also causing issues with air/fuel.
First things im ordering new from fcp euro is a fuel pump and possibly an alternator. I also need a fuel line from pump to filter cuz volvos connecton thing failed and it shot off of the pump so i had to leave the car at work. I'm just going to save the $100 and create a custom fuel line since part of it i already had to clamp it to the fuel filter side

There is a Dorman replacement part for that connection which costs about $10
