Knock Sensor Part Source?

Post by cgw4jesus »

So I need a knock sensor for my 2000 S70 non-turbo, part #1275629. Part has been discontinued per dealer and seems to be confirmed by a Google search I did. Anyone have any idea where I could source one? Maybe from the European market (anyone know a good parts supplier overseas)?

How about a junkyard? They don't often go bad. I can't recall where they are on the car or if they fit turbo and non-turbo.

Unfortunately here there are only turbo AWD, 2 x 99 (S70 AWD and V70 XC). No FWD NA at the moment.

From what I can see yours has a single sensor, where there is also a 2nd version with what looks like 2 sensors. Looking on a Volvo website, it shows this also being suitable for a 2000 S70 NA. Not sure what the fitment difference is or if it works on your car.

The strange thing is it gives the basically same list of cars for the part number you listed??

Are you sure you need one? If it's a knock sensor code, the problem is more commonly the harness disconnecting or the sensor coming loose.

Does anyone know if there is a way to test one of those knock sensor ?

I'm suspecting mine arent working, I have a set from a parts car but I read somewhere that Volvo had a bulletin about knock sensor harness issues. I'll check Vida once i'm back on my home pc.
