I have developed a squeeling noise that everybody who listens to it (including myself at first) thinks it the serp belt as any normal person would. Symptoms are also very similair to that of a serp belt in which the noise really only happens when the car is either in D or R and also when in D, I can turn the wheel and the noise will stop for a sec or 2 or sometime completely if i hold the steering still at just the right angle. So, i got a new serp belt, and while belt was off, spun each pulley by hand, heard nothing, installed the new belt but the noise continues. And, when listening to it again, the sound actually almost sounds like it might be coming back by the turbo area. Any ideas??

And i might add, it seemed to have started shortly after my AC line was busted and leaked all the freon out (and now i have no AC  )

I would imagine just because you spun each pulley, doesn't mean anything when you can't spin fast enough, but most importantly, there is tension on the belt when on, which would apply some force on the pulley, probably enough for the noise to come on.

So its probably the AC pulley since there is no freon?

try a long stethoscope or spray the pulleys with water.
