You can most likely use the lower part/block of the engine and swap over the head on yours. I knew a guy a long time ago that swapped an 05 engine into his 98 V70 AWD and had it running well. Not straight forward, but that can be done. In the end he was using his 98 systems to run the engine.

What you are doing would be a challenge. There may be someone out there that has done something (if you throw enough time and money at anything you may find a working solution) similar but it won't be easy if at all doable.

If you want more power from your current engine there are ways to do that from larger turbos and tunes, exhausts and more.

Hilton is the go-to for ME7 tuning, IIRC. That's who you'll want to talk to.

As I mentioned previously, the cam timing events on the P2R engines doen't play nice without the VVT active unless they are re-clocked.

Hence the recommendation to swap for the original heads, but then that I guess defeats the point............!

Here is an example from Rica in Holland/Netherlands. My 00 V70R came with one of their tunes which took it from stock 265bhp to 312bhp with just the tune. Their tune for the 2.5 GLT is for 193 to 241 bhp and +110Nm on torque.

I like the LPT engines with the smaller turbo as it spools faster. Sure it runs out of puff relative to a larger turbo but then a lot of that power is no use on the road.
