Hello again,

I went out at night for the first time in months since i could not drive at night for a long time because of the cataracts. Now that that is fixed, i can drive at night although i probably wont need too really.
So i went out to start the car and take the garbage out, and i turned on the headlights and noticed the area in front of the car lit up pretty nice. I thought the headlights needed adjustment but that was just the cataracts it seems. While trying to adjust the headlights the adjustment nut broke on one of the headlights so that killed that idea right away. Apparently though they dont need adjustment so i guess it's ok now even with the nut mechanism broken off. I was going to drive around the block but i can see that the area in front of the car is very visible now even at nighttime, so i'll save it for a time when i really have to go out at night.
I’ve got lots of spares of adjusters, but it’s a headlight removal to get these in. Not too bad, three 10mm m6 bolts, as long as they don’t seize .
Hi Steve,

Well thanks and i may take you up on that one day but for now it seems they are ok as i tested last night. It just appeared that they may have been adjusted wrong because even with the lights on i could not see that well at night with the cataracts. I can see pretty well at night now it's an amazing difference unbelievable. So i probably will never have to adjust them.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Well this picture is for our friend foggydogg! Never say never our friend!! :D

This small box arrived from Volvo of Vancouver this morning containing not 1, not 2 but 4, yes 4 of part # 1387105.

These are rubber bellows/boots used on rear shocks for several of the RWD older Volvos like 240's but more importantly for those of us with P80's with Nivomat self-leveling shocks that like to eat their 'boots' with age, this part also fits them as well. For a long time we were told they were NLA, and recently Foggydogg was told again by Tasca they were not available.

Strange think is that my local dealer and the supplying dealer for these parts both said the number was not retired, but 'on back order'. That usually means to them a 3-4 week turn around from Sweden.

Sure enough, this morning a small box arrive with the 4 parts I ordered for my 'stock!

That is a real OUCH! on that bill. Cheaper to get another head if you can find one and have it re-built if the valves are good?

Volvo of Annapolis told me again today NLA.
It was only a few weeks ago I tried TASCA.
You must have some Caribou Cousin family connection going on up there.

Dealers up here say the part is available again, but is a classic part which ships from Sweden.

If you have no luck I can ship you a pair from here.

I just tried VPWS IL, they show them on the website, I ordered some, and the y cancelled it today.
Found this on SKANDIX.DE, it doesn't cross on any of the Volvo sites I checked.

https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/s ... r/1018799/

I think even the Volvo dealers up there are Canada Nice.
I still have a random rack boot I bought to try a workaround. It's getting closer to the top of the list. Ask Steve what my back yard looks like.

Did you just need one or 2 boots? For some reason I have a random spare.

That Skandix part number is correct - 1387105

Do you want me to see if I can order you a pair up here? They take about 4 weeks to get here. I have to identify and order some parts for myself and if the order is over $75 CDN then shipping to me is free. I will double check they are not now 'unavailable again, but if they are not then it means US dealers are using monkeys in the parts department!

If you need 2, I can double check they are available and ship you 2 from my stock. I think with taxes they were $24 CDN each but without the 125 Euro Skandix shipping to US! There would be whatever it cost to ship to from here.
