Hi Everyone,
I went on a short trip this morning, about 6 miles, and realized that my speedometer stopped working. Any ideas on what might cause this? Are there cable connections I should be looking at, ABS sensors to clean? Could it be electrical? Any way to find out?
Appreciate any suggestions!

I am trying to remember if the P80's -98 have a separate speed sensor on the transmission. The ABS module can also cause this issue when they start to fail, but I would check the ABS sensors and front reluctor rings on the outer end of the axles for dirt/rust/damage.
There is information somewhere here or possibly on Matty's Mid-West ABS website on resistance values for the ABS cables.
Neil.

I will check on those spots and report back. Thank you!
If it helps narrow the troubleshooting, the odometer has stopped working as well.

This happened to me a couple of weeks back. Turned out to be a lose connector going into one of the distribution blocks under the dash.
In my case, I found that the purple slide lock that holds the plugs firmly in place, had been left unseated by a tech from the previous owner.
I was having other weird intermittent dash issues as well till I found that lock, so this is probably not your cause. But who knows....

Is your ABS working as it should?
Scan the DTCs and look for DTCs for the ABS.
The P80 ABS are known to get cracked solder joints where connector is soldered on the PCB. The speedometer a wheel sensor data data stream from the ABS. When that signal is lost due to a cracked solder joint(s) the speedometer quits also.
You can get a Remanufactured P80 ABS on eBay for as low as $75.00 with core exchange.
