1999 volvo s70

Hie guys i bought my used volvo s70 but it wont shift gears i took the car to service the auto gearbox but still no change it keeps showing an arrow going upwards the repair man tried to diagonise with the machine but cant communicate with car.
Please help guys am in love with that car

The best case scenario is that the PNP switch is toast. Search on how to clean/repair or replace it.

What scan tool he used to communicate with TCU or with engine ECU?

You will need Vida/Dice to access TCM on 99+ Volvo cars.

99 and 00 years are not yet in Can Bus fully. Example AW 50-42 is behind old system. They can be diagnosed ex. with ELM327 or KKL cable by how you want use what programs.

ECM and ABS are example in CAN Bus on these years already. These years were mixed bags on Volvo like V70 specially. S/V40 were same story as far i know and tested.

You are correct ME7 is ECM which i described is in CAN Bus. The ABS is the other one example i brought up from year models 1999 and 2000.

But i say or mean is that other systems (i got report multiple times now even with VIN as proof of year of models V70's (1999 and 2000)) with a log showing they can still connect VGLA, Immobiliser, SRS and AW 50-42 without problems like it being still 1998 models even though its already 99 or 00 model. So my comment is about that they are mixed bag of system and not FULL CAN Bus like been believed up to this point widely for some unknown reasons like on years 2001 and up. I know example SRS did change Fault Codes on these 99-00 models where i detect car being those years so there is only one.. *cough* which understands up to them outside Volvo tool and some licensed ones.

I don't know if KKL is possible as such to connect to these years like with ELM327 or where it comes from that knowledge honestly.

P.S. Anyway about years 99 and 00 and newer CAN Bus systems.. I have read fault codes over CEM via OBDII from year 2001+ SRS box and DIM from Volvo with ELM327 which are fully CAN Bus. Just need add switch between there and do little trickery.
