Where is the Throttle Body located?

Post by AP »

I think I need to clean the throttle body on my 2000 S70 GLT. (Ruff idling when cold) Everywhere I go it only says : " You will see a black plastic cover with a single torx screw holding it down"
Where is it located?

It's mounted on the side of the intake manifold. The hose coming from the bottom of the intercooler plugs into the throttle body.

Trying to find out where the throttle body is to clean it. Saw this post but I don't know where ANY of it is. Maybe a pic or diagram if anyone knows where one is located. I will say I DO know where the MAF sensor is as I cleaned it lastnight. Maybe that will help.

Thanks so much,
Sharon

On an '02 I don't think there is a throttle body - there is an electronic throttle module.

Which engine do you have?

The turbos run the ETM, from VADIS the '02 looks to have a fairly standard looking throttle body, it is on the end of the intake manifold, driver's side. It does appear to be electronically controlled so I am unsure what precautions you need to take. If you post the question in the 01+ forum I'm sure those folks can help.

Here is a picture of it:
