No rear defrost 2004 V70R

Post by MDK »

Hey all MDK here. So, my rear defogger doesn't work on the back glass. I have a code for the DDM switches mirrors.i I looked on my VIDADICE and couldn't find a wiring diagram. The heated mirrors don't work either. Is that all tied in together?

They should be all tied together as the heated mirrors switch on with the tailgate heater. A couple of areas to check are the more obvious ones of:

1) The fuse for that circuit
2) Broken wires in the door harness for either door
3) Tailgate harness in the roof area.

The opening doors/hatch work the wire harnesses hard and they eventually break random wires. Just takes one to fail. I am more used to this issue in the P80 generation, and I can't recall if the door harness on a P2 separates at the door pillar like the P80's. If they do then you can buzz out the door wires after removing the door inner panels.
