Re: Vida CEM swapping
I have checked the tracking of the elusive cf160 transceivers, they have at last landed in the uk
but typically there is a postal strike!!! So who knows if I'll receive it at all this year

You could harvest a CAN transceiver from a spare Volvo unit...
I got my transceiver (NXP TJA1040) from an old XC70 Rear Electronic Module.
There is poetic pleasure in using a Volvo component to recover what was taken from you by Volvo
I'm alluding here to your right to customize or repair your car.
This PIN business or being locked out of using spare parts is really sleazy.
Cheers from Canada

I like poetic justice , if they don't turn up I'll look for a module which has that version or see if there is a healthy supply of them over here.brobert wrote: ↑21 Oct 2022, 19:49 You could harvest a CAN transceiver from a spare Volvo unit...

Which is disappointing, I have another cem to play around with I managed to score from ebay for £20 quid. I'll certainly will be trying it on that too
How about repeatability of the first two bytes in the pin, do you get the same numbers on every run?
The cheap cem turned up
I'll start having a mess around with it after I have finished at the hospital.
Also I found some 30awg wire which is handy as I don't Need to buy any. And 14awg is pretty thick stuff. For my first go I used some 18 or 19awg i think it is , ill doubld check . Is 14awg best to give a good result ?

I'll certainly change the wiring I have currently installed , and change it over for further testing.
Afew days ago I did use some purpose built transceivers, as I was being inpatient. As I was awaiting some transceivers, but then Rick recommended some cf160's which I have been awaiting. , all at the same time, the pcbway recently turned up so another piece of the puzzle.
Regarding the reg Did you use a 12v to 5v reg like a L7812CV ? or a purpose built regulator ? For you're rig?

Do you have a link for the software @T5Luke made ? Or is it on github ?vtl wrote: ↑21 Oct 2022, 11:13Rick had problems with 31394157 as well, not sure of his resolution.oscilloscope wrote: ↑21 Oct 2022, 10:40 It managed to capture 6 numbers in total. Not the full amount, it tries to perform the bute force attack and then fails. , i still have it hooked up to my rig and I'll do afew passes to see.
Cem part number 31394157
Also is it from MY2006+ car? 2006+ can be cracked with P3 protocol. T5Luke posted his program to crack it via DiCE.
