I stopped using any of the drain petcocks or screws when things went to plastic. Figured that eventually I'd break something.
At this point, I've gotten pretty good at creating a controlled stream after loosening the lower hose on all my vehicles. Quicker too.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

I think the 1/4 turn style is vastly superior to the snappable OEM
It’s harder to control the flow, but easier to avoid breaking.

Did contact Volvo dealership by asking what is my S40 Immo PIN and Verlog codes. Denied first for giving for avoid "unauthorized usage"..

Took weekend then i did find hints how long code it was etc.. as got official dealer manual for them and i thought i figured out Verlog code so i gave later both PIN and Verlog codes and requested do i get parrot mark if correct in reply. They directed me then to web shop buy parrot marks as they don't have one so i guess i take that as yes.

Verlog code is used when programming new one on SV40's so i guess they wanted me get there so they could sell new box as well.

10V V70 Siemens ECU Immo is headache if it goes out of sync as its inside processor memory (2x processors in this ECU top of everything). Personal fun challenges. Anyway i have solution for this too by now.

One fun fact.. Immo supports new key programming and removing keys with PIN.. but formally "if doesn't have fault codes present".
Well programming doesn't happen and.. removing keys gives error code BUT still it will "remove" keys from memory though so thanks Bosch nice software. Cool. I am gonna add that function surely.

Yes, you can’t have codes or activity on the Can bus to add keys.

Evita the 1999 S70 won’t go quiet, and I had to buy the alarm module on the P2 to get keys made

Kinda boring guys at Volvo Service center as for that.

Did test my S40 PIN code it works fine and didn't need Volvo. For adding keys need either new "virgin" key chips as immo programs them.. or if want use old keys then requires manually add keys to immo memory with who has tools and knowledge.. like some locksmiths... Or me. If locksmiths who uses ready tools i know they too cannot add via user interface tool without manually typing as they just mostly read what keys are there and clone it from inside just like that 1200+ bucks device which most common. I think that is because they would mostly limited then overwrite only existing ones as they forgot where needs update one number to correct one. So they mostly didn't bother. As one major manual says "Pin" method instead.

On 00 year models they modified immo to have expanded memory and i did look they added as friendly guys key chip configure bits there too for everyone see.
This is applicable before V70 got facelift to 2001 model likes. As these had still immo3 system. Then it moved inside CEM.

Next will try locate all three PIN codes for Alarm module and PIN code for Msa15.7 diesel ECU.

These cars are a pain when it comes to keys and key fobs. I'd love to have a key fob for mine, but the process of adding it is ridiculously complicated/expensive, and it's not worth it to me.

In comparison, my BMWs require about 2 minutes to add a remote. Key on/off and press some buttons, key fob is working. Programming the key is also an easy process with the right tool. Why Volvo couldn't have done that, I have no idea.

I was gigglin myself when read Volvo listing Tire size (circumference) change in CDM/ Dashboard as "software update" for 1999 models. I knew where it was heading at. Volvo marble table.

I am all for be able self repair. I was ready pay for known my own car Verlog code but not direct block as such... pissed me so i took time to crack PIN and Verlog code and rest fun stuff inside immo. There is stuff Volvo doesn't share to dealers even and or their device even read or make use of.

850 97 year was still Remote adding just 5 times Ignition ON and leaving last time its On (or this idea, exact count i didn't now check from notes) and see blinking red light and pressing key fob's which want to add.

Update. Did find PIN(s) for Remote Alarm VGLA module from 98 V70's. Didn't even encrypt those, lazy people. Bosch Australia module took much more effort. Now i need get rest of the system and remote to confirm full working for people "program" V70 98 Remotes at home wooden table.
