850 Roof rack seals

Hy Buddies,

I have a question about my roof rack.Is it possible to find seals for them ? If i want to put them away, how fill the free space ?

If you plan to remove the racks altogether then fitting a set of regular seals is really the only option. I'm not sure if they are still available new anymore, used ones are hard to find in good condition. The black covering tends to split and peel off. Some have managed to remove all the black covering and then painted the metal black with satin or matt black paint.

Thanks Neil. I was asking the same question about the seal that goes to the windshield bottom. Is it also hard to replace, or does it come only when you replace the windshield ?

Good question and the answer is I don't know! Hopefully someone who has done this before can answer the question for us. As the windshield is bonded in I Believe the strip can be removed without the windshield being removed first.

For the windshield bottom, you mean where you clip the plastic tray into the glass? I destroyed mine, there is a replacement available from skandix/volvo. It was a different part but fitment was better than with the old one. don't have the pn right now.

For the rubber seal on the roof racks I would also like to know, but I wasn't able to find anynthing. Don't think this is available... sadly mine is also crumbling.
