Got the CEM back from xemodex. Popped it in. All good.

BUT, Noticed the rear lights won’t shut off. What do I check?

If your CEM failure was due to water intrusion, replace all the relays on the CEM. My car had gremlins twice due to relays after CEM replacement. The second time I had the rest replaced and end of electrical gremlins! June

Mine came from the dealership. They were not expensive. I'll get my receipts out and post pictures showing part numbers and price. June

Here are the two portions of two bills with relays being replaced. Those last four relays cost me big bucks in repairs over the year period between the CEM with 12 relays ticket 12/2020 the portion with four relays 6/2022. I had five tickets in between those two dates replacing light bulbs, light sockets, turn signal switch, catalytic converter assembly, mass airflow sensor, all of the O2 sensors. All came down to four final relays not replaced. June

Thank you.

Reached out to an auto body repair guy to see if he has a relay diagram. Hoping to not replace them All.

If your car matches the wiring diagram I have (2002 Volvo V70) these lights are controlled by the CEM, relay CMI5. You could swap this relay with an equivalent one on the CEM and see if it might be a bad relay. What about the front parking lights? It looks like this relay also supplies power to the front parking lights if you don't have Bi-X headlamps. What's the knob position of the light switch module, does it make any difference moving the LSM to different positions?

I am pretty sure the parking lights stay on all the time by default. It's a Volvo safety thing.
