Installing a new timing belt. Have located the the marks for the camshaft and idler need to know where the crankshaft marks need to go? The crank has both a concave and a convex keyway. Where are they suppose to line up. I inherited the car and the car was bought in munich new, serviced regularly till 100k miles shows 171k miles. want to make a daily driver if possible.

save yourself much aggravation and line up all the marks before you remove the old one. That way you will know what it should look like. You need a special wrench or some other method to hold the bottom pulley while you loosen crankshaft bolt.

Failing the special wrench remove the starter motor or the flywheel bottom cover and have an assistant jam the flywheel whilst you remove the crankshaft bolt.
