Hello there. How do you identify if your car has the power assist steering or not?
It’s a 2007 V70 Non turbo five speed manual.
Having never seen either type of steering I have nothing to reference to determine which one I have.
What is the specific visual determiner?
I’m attempting to use the Vida Dice I recently bought and I have to input one or the other.
Thanks,
Steve

Ok,…I think I’m calling it the wrong thing. Speed dependent/sensitive steering is what I am wondering if I have or not.
All of them are “power assisted” but apparently there is an additional option of “speed sensitive steering”
How do I know?

There’s an electrical solenoid with a wire going to it right on the pinion portion on the rack.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

No problem. There’s about 4 types of rack possible on these cars it seems so pay extra special attention when selecting a replacement.
