98 Saffron V70R in Edmonton Wreckers

Went to the local wreckers today, found a 98 V70R in the orange Saffron color. Looked to be in decent shape, but we'll picked over, drivetrain gone, rear hatch gone. Mileage unknown, but driver's seat boulster is worn through, but no other wear found in interior. I have never saw a light tan V70R interior before. I picked the R embossed cloth floor mats in good shape and the factory Volvo tan rubber mats. Might go back for the door panels, possibly seats if cheap enough. I found some aftermarket bars in the back, they look to be the length of the AWD rear toe rods or whatever they are called. The toe rods were removed from this car, has anybody seen any aftermarket adjustable P80 AWD rear toe/tie rod

Nice find. Those look like adjustable bars like you say for the rear axle. Shame that a saffron 'R' has ended up in the junkyard.

If you have time and go back, can you pull the rear brake adjusters for the parking brake cables? Those and the brake backing/dust shields are NLA for AWD P80's so worth having spare. Even the front door rear window sliders are NLA now for all P80's!

The eccentric screw for the rear stay rods are NLA and are easy to snap taking them off

The rear stays themselves were available last year from Volvo

Those door cards are really nice. I think they do better over time than the vinyl inserts, but may suffer from the poor glue on the mounting points.
Some Rs had the premium radio setup too.
Kind of sad to see such a clean looking car in a rare colo(u)r being broken up.

Another disappearing post!

I thought I posted that if the head unit is still there, or even if it has been removed, check if the amp is still under the passenger seat. It is a black rectangular box held in place by 2 x 12mm? bolts. To get to it you have to remove the 2 front seat runner bolts and the inner rear one. Leaving the outer rear one in place allows the seat base to be tilted backwards to give room to remove the amp.

The wiring harness for the amp runs under the center console but is now NLA. You can fit this to any of the SC-815 and up head units with an amp input on the rear.
