Use cardboard for a pattern, measure first, then cut cardboard and start trial trimming to fit.

2000F heat proof adhesive, I don't think you need it because the glue is protected by the heatshield itself.
If the glue gets too hot to hold, then the shield is not working.

you can always cut it into 6 inch squares and tile it like the space shuttle.
