Abscate I've ran into a hexa problem also known as the Allan screws that join shaft to rear differential. I tried a 6mm too big. 5.5mm to small. 1/4" too big. Next one down too small. Will you accept it if I cut the shaft close to the diff? Someone is bound to have the right tool.

It is 6mm. Just make sure it is clean inside the head as it may be either your socket is off size or it is not fully seating. I have a 3/8" drive 6 mm hex and use a wobble shaft to allow the socket to sit square. If the trans is still in or the parking brake is still connected you can use either to control the shaft from moving.

My suggestion when trying to peddle parts would be to avoid cutting anything if you can help it. The driveshaft has some value as well. Those fasteners were installed with some Swedish version of locktite, a little Gentle heat might help, along with the usual juice of preference. They are metric.
