Welcome to MVS. Not really familiar with your car, but I agree, the gap between the tire and the fender looks excessive. You might try asking your question here: http://www.s40concepts.net/newforum/ I know that it's a forum for the S40 but your front end is not different than the sedan. Maybe someone would have an explanation (and possibly a fix). My thinking is that someone used some after market strut mounts and springs which raised it.

Price was cheaper for after market parts and they didn't know any better...happens all the time. Besides, if they went with Bilstein struts as replacements on the front, they are known to raise the front about an inch...at least they do on S/V/XC 70's and 850's.

Btw, you don't say, but how many miles are on your V40 and where are you? If you're in the U.S., I can recommend some on-line places to buy front suspension parts for your car at a considerable discount over the dealer.

Sounds good! Keep us updated on what you do. Oh, and definitely enjoy the honeymoon!
Some before and after pictures (ummm, that would be of the V40!) would sure be nice. :o
